Call for Contributions
The 2015 American Control Conference will be held Wednesday through Friday, July 1-3, in Chicago, Illinois – the largest and most visited city in the Midwest. The ACC is the annual conference of the American Automatic Control Council (AACC, the U.S. national member organization of the International Federation for Automatic Control (IFAC)). National and international society co-sponsors of the ACC include the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the IEEE Control Systems Society (IEEE-CSS), the International Society of Automation (ISA), the Society for Modeling & Simulation International (SCS), and the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
The 2015 ACC technical program will comprise several types of presentations in regular and invited sessions, tutorial sessions, and special sessions along with workshops and exhibits. Submissions are encouraged in all areas of the theory and practice of automatic control, including within the special themes of energy, biomedical, and transportation systems, which will be the topics of three of the plenary/semi-plenary lectures that open full days of topical sessions.
Contributed papers: Papers on all aspects of the theory and application of automatic control are invited in the form of regular 6-page manuscripts. Papers must conform to the policies described on the conference website.
Invited Sessions: Invited sessions consist of 6 papers that collectively present a unifying theme from diverse viewpoints. Proposals must be accompanied by full versions of each paper to be individually reviewed along with the proposal itself.
Tutorial Sessions: Tutorial sessions are organized to provide an introduction to a topic of interest. The format is structured around a main tutorial paper (up to 18 pages) and talk (60 minutes) followed by three presentations (with or without papers of up to 6 pages each) intended to give a picture of the state of the art. Sessions involving industry-academic collaboration are encouraged.
Special Sessions: Special sessions offer a venue for providing exposure to emerging research areas, funding opportunities, and other topics of broad interest to the conference attendees, including industry applications or opportunities. Proposed special sessions do not require submitted papers and are held over lunch breaks or in the evenings.
Pre-conference Workshops: Proposals for pre-conference workshops are solicited. Workshops that address novel control methodologies and nonstandard control applications, as well as those with strong tutorial value, are encouraged.
Exhibits: Exhibits are invited that showcase control-related publications, applications, products, services, and demonstrations, which will be open to all conference attendees.
